17/11/2023I can help you with a meatball recipe that combines the sweetness of pears with the intensity of Goat Blue cheese, creating a dish with a very interesting balance of flavors. The preparation of this dish is not typical of Italian tradition, but we will enrich it with Mediterranean accents.
Ingredients
- 300g ground meat (you can choose between beef, pork, chicken or turkey, according to your preferences)
- 1 ripe pear, cut into small cubes
- 100g Goat Blue cheese, crumbled
- 1 egg
- 1 sprig of fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Extra virgin olive oil for cooking
Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix the ground meat with the pear cut into cubes and the crumbled Goat Blue cheese.
- Add the egg, chopped rosemary and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper to your taste. Mix all the ingredients well until the mixture is homogeneous.
- Take small portions of the mixture and form meatballs of your preferred size.
- In a pan, heat a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and cook the meatballs over medium-high heat until golden and crispy on all sides.
- Once cooked, you can place the meatballs on a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.
Curiosities
Meatballs are a very versatile dish that lends itself to numerous variations. The pairing of pear with cheese is a common practice in salads and appetizers, but adding these ingredients to meatballs gives a unique flavor that will amaze your guests. The Italian touch here is given by the use of extra virgin olive oil and rosemary, which add a Mediterranean aroma to the preparation.
Buon appetito!
