Mother-in-Law's Chocolate Cake
17/11/2023The Mother-in-Law’s Chocolate Cake is a tempting dessert that combines the goodness of chocolate with a unique consistency of the cake. Here’s how you can prepare it:
Ingredients
- 200 g of dark chocolate
 - 200 g of butter
 - 200 g of sugar
 - 100 g of all-purpose flour
 - 4 eggs
 - 1 sachet of baking powder
 - A pinch of salt

Preparation
- Take a cake pan and line it with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 180 °C so that it heats up while you prepare the batter.
 - Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave, making sure to stir it until it becomes smooth and homogeneous. Allow it to cool slightly.
 - In a bowl, cream the soft butter with the sugar until you obtain a frothy mixture.
 - Separate the yolks from the whites. Whip the whites to stiff peaks with a pinch of salt.
 - Add the yolks to the butter and sugar mixture and stir until well blended.
 - Mix in the melted chocolate and stir again.
 - Sift the flour with the baking powder and add it to the mixture gradually, folding gently from top to bottom to avoid deflating it.
 - Finally, delicately fold in the whipped egg whites, trying to keep as much air in the batter as possible.
 - Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and level the surface.
 - Bake the cake for about 30-35 minutes. Always do the toothpick test to make sure the cake is cooked properly: it should come out clean, but not dry, because the cake should remain moist inside.
 - Take the cake out of the oven and let it cool before removing it from the pan.
