17/11/2023Verzini are typical sausages from the Lombard tradition, usually cooked in simple ways to enhance their flavor. The preparation with beer is a method that enriches the taste and creates a delicious sauce. Here is the recipe to prepare verzini in beer:
Ingredients
- 4 verzini (fresh pure pork sausages)
- 1 onion
- 500 ml of light beer
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste.
Preparation
- Start by cleaning and finely slicing the onion.
- Take a large pan and heat the extra virgin olive oil.
- Add the onion to the oil and let it sauté over medium-low heat until it becomes transparent and soft.
- Add the verzini to the pan with the onion and let them brown on all sides until they take on color.
- At this point, pour the beer over them until it covers the verzini. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat.
- Let cook over low heat for about 30 minutes, until the beer has reduced forming a slightly thicker sauce.
- Adjust salt and pepper during cooking according to your taste.
While the verzini cook in the beer, you will have time to prepare a side dish, which could be for example oven-baked potatoes or polenta.
