Chocolate and Pear Fritters

Chocolate and pear fritters are a delicious dessert that combines the delicate sweetness of pears with the richness of chocolate. Here is the recipe to prepare them.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe but still firm pears
  • 150 g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g sugar
  • 100 ml milk
  • 50 g melted butter
  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for decoration)

Preparation

  1. Start by washing and peeling the pears. Remove the core and cut them into cubes that are not too small.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until you get a light and frothy mixture.
  3. Gently incorporate the sifted flour together with the baking powder, alternating with the milk to avoid lumps.
  4. Add the melted butter and a pinch of salt to the mixture and stir to combine all ingredients well.
  5. Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces and add it to the batter along with the pear cubes.
  6. In a large pan, heat plenty of vegetable oil.
  7. Using two spoons or an ice cream scoop, take some batter and fry it in the hot oil until the fritters are golden on all sides.
  8. Make sure to fry them in small batches at a time so as not to lower the oil temperature and turn them during cooking for even browning.
  9. Drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  10. Before serving, you can dust the fritters with powdered sugar for a final sweet and decorative touch.
