Chocolate and Walnut Cake

Ingredients

  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 100 g butter
  • 100 g sugar

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave, making sure to stir often and not let it burn.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
  4. In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture is light and frothy.
  5. Add the melted chocolate and slightly cooled butter to the egg and sugar mixture, stirring gently.
  6. Incorporate the sifted flour with the baking powder and a pinch of salt, mixing until a homogeneous batter is obtained.
  7. Fold the chopped walnuts into the batter.
  8. Pour the batter into a previously buttered and floured pan (or lined with parchment paper).
  9. Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  10. Let the cake cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
