Ingredients
- 200 gr shredded coconut
- 200 gr powdered sugar
- 200 gr dark chocolate
- 1 egg white
- A pinch of salt
- (Optional) 2 tablespoons of rum or a few drops of vanilla extract
Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix the shredded coconut with the powdered sugar.
- Add the egg white and a pinch of salt.
- If you decide to use a flavoring, add the rum or vanilla at this point.
- Knead until you obtain a homogeneous mixture that can be easily shaped.
- Take portions of the dough and form balls about the size of a walnut.
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave, being careful not to burn it.
- Dip the balls one by one in the melted chocolate, using two forks to let the excess drip off.
- Arrange the balls on a sheet of parchment paper and let them cool.
- Once the chocolate has solidified, your coconut and chocolate balls are ready to be served.
You can store the balls in the refrigerator, separating them with parchment paper to prevent them from sticking together.
