Apple Crumble with Oats
17/11/2023The Apple Crumble with Oats is a rustic and delicious version of the classic apple tart, with a touch of crunchiness from the oats. Here is the recipe to prepare this comforting dessert:
Ingredients
- 300 g of 00 flour
- 100 g of oat flakes
- 150 g of brown sugar
- 150 g of cold butter, cubed
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 4 medium apples (Golden or Renette)
- The juice of half a lemon
- 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- Powdered sugar for decoration (optional)
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180° C (350° F).
- In a large bowl, mix the flour with the oat flakes, brown sugar, baking powder and the pinch of salt.
- Add the cold butter, cubed, and the egg. Work the ingredients with your fingers or with the help of a fork until you obtain a crumbly mixture.
- In a separate bowl, peel the apples, remove the core and cut them into small cubes. Season with lemon juice, granulated sugar and cinnamon, mixing well.
- Butter and flour a round springform pan approximately 24 cm in diameter.
- Pour half of the crumbly mixture into the pan, pressing lightly with your hands to form a compact base.
- Spread the apple filling on top, then cover with the remaining crumbly mixture, without pressing too much.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the surface is golden.
- Let the crumble cool before opening the springform pan.
- If desired, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
This crumble will be delicious both warm and cold and can be paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
