Banana Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 grams of melted butter
  • 240 grams of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 60 ml of milk
  • Optional: a handful of walnuts or chocolate chips to add crunch and flavor

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 175 °C.
  2. Mash the bananas in a large bowl until you obtain a puree.
  3. Add the sugar and eggs to the banana puree and mix well.
  4. Incorporate the melted butter, continuing to mix.
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, little by little, alternating with the milk and vanilla extract, until you obtain a homogeneous batter. If you decide to use walnuts or chocolate chips, add them now and mix.
  7. Pour the batter into a buttered and floured cake pan.
  8. Bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  9. Let the banana cake cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to complete cooling.
