Bresaola Rolls

Bresaola rolls are a fresh, quick and tasty appetizer, perfect for an aperitivo or as a starter to a meal. Here is the recipe to prepare them.

Ingredients

  • 10 slices of bresaola
  • 100 g of spreadable fresh cheese (such as Philadelphia or robiola)
  • Arugula, a handful
  • 1 lemon (the juice, for seasoning)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Extra virgin olive oil to taste
  • Capers or olives (optional, for garnish)

Preparation

  1. Start by washing and thoroughly drying the arugula.
  2. In a bowl, mix the spreadable cheese with a little lemon juice, salt and pepper until you obtain a smooth cream seasoned to your liking.
  3. Lay out the bresaola slices and spread a little of the cheese cream on each one.
  4. Add a few arugula leaves on top of the cream.
  5. Roll up the bresaola with gentle firmness to form the rolls.
  6. If desired, you can add a finishing touch with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, a squeeze of lemon and, if liked, capers or a small olive skewered with a toothpick to hold the roll together.

Bresaola rolls can be served on a platter, perhaps garnished with a bit of fresh arugula in the center for an aesthetically pleasing effect.

Trivia
