Chocolate and Strawberry Tortino

The chocolate tortino with strawberry heart is a delicious spoon dessert that pairs the intense flavor of dark chocolate with the sweetness and acidity of strawberries. Here is a recipe with an Italian touch:

Ingredients

  • 200 g good-quality dark chocolate
  • 100 g butter, plus a little extra for greasing the molds
  • 100 g sugar
  • 50 g flour, plus a little extra for dusting the molds
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Fresh strawberries (about 200 g or to taste)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C and grease and lightly flour the tortino molds.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler together with the butter, stirring until smooth. Remove from the heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Meanwhile, wash, dry and cut the strawberries into pieces, setting some aside for decoration.
  4. In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until light and frothy. Add the flour and pinch of salt, mixing gently.
  5. Fold the melted chocolate into the egg mixture and stir with a spatula until homogeneous.
  6. Pour half the batter into the prepared molds, place some strawberry pieces in the center, then cover with the remaining batter.
  7. Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
  8. Once baked, let the tortini rest for a couple of minutes, then unmold onto serving plates.
  9. Decorate with the reserved fresh strawberries and, if desired, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
