Cocoa Cake

Ingredients
- 200g flour
- 200g sugar
- 75g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 100g soft butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 packet baking powder
- 250ml milk
- A pinch of salt
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- In a bowl, sift together flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- In another bowl, beat the soft butter with the sugar until you get a fluffy mixture.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, continuing to beat.
- Incorporate the sifted dry ingredients into the butter and egg mixture, alternating with the milk, until you obtain a homogeneous batter without lumps.
- Pour the batter into a previously buttered and floured cake pan.
- Bake for about 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool before removing it from the pan, and if desired, you can dust it with powdered sugar or glaze it with dark chocolate.
Trivia
This cake can be enriched with additional ingredients such as chopped hazelnuts, chocolate chips, or a dusting of powdered sugar for decoration. It is also an excellent base for filled or layered cakes. And if you want to add an Italian touch, you could serve it with a dollop of mascarpone or a chocolate and coffee cream, which recall traditional Italian flavors.
