Trivia
Fig pizza is not exactly a traditional Italian recipe, however, the pairing of figs and prosciutto is a classic of Italian appetizers. Figs have a long history in Italy, having been one of the first fruits cultivated even before the founding of Rome. Their sweetness pairs perfectly with the salty flavor of prosciutto and the creaminess of mozzarella, creating a contrast of flavors that has become very appreciated in gourmet pizzerias.
