Fried Calamari with Lime

Ingredients
- 500 g cleaned calamari, cut into rings
- Juice of one lime
- Grated zest of one lime
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 100 g flour
- Oil for frying
Preparation
- In a bowl, season the calamari rings with salt and pepper.
- Add the lime juice and let marinate for about 15-30 minutes. This will help tenderize the calamari and add flavor.
- Heat the oil in a pan or fryer to a temperature of 180 °C.
- Meanwhile, drain the calamari from the marinade and pat them dry lightly with paper towels.
- Coat the calamari rings in flour, making sure to flour them evenly.
- Fry the rings in hot oil until golden and crispy, usually 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the calamari from the oil with a slotted spoon and let them drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- While still hot, lightly sprinkle them with the grated lime zest.
