Fruit Salad in Pineapple
17/11/2023The Pineapple Fruit Salad is a fresh and very spectacular dessert that can be served as a meal end or as a snack on hot days. Here’s how to prepare an exquisite Pineapple Fruit Salad in the Italian way.
Ingredients
- 1 large pineapple
- 2 kiwis
- 1 banana
- 100 g strawberries
- 1 orange
- 1 apple
- Lemon juice
- Sugar or honey (to taste)
- Fresh mint leaves for decoration (optional)
Preparation
- Cut the pineapple in half lengthwise using a sharp knife.
- Carefully remove the pineapple pulp without breaking the skin, which will serve as a bowl for the fruit salad. Leave a border of about 1 cm. Remove the hard central part of the pineapple and cut the remaining pulp into cubes.
- Peel the kiwis and banana and cut them into slices or cubes.
- Wash the strawberries, remove the stem and cut them in half or into pieces.
- Peel and dice the orange and apple as well, after removing the core.
- In a large bowl, mix the pineapple pulp with the kiwis, banana, strawberries, orange and apple. Drizzle everything with lemon juice to prevent the fruits from oxidizing and add sugar or honey according to your taste.
- Fill the empty pineapple halves with the fruit salad and decorate with fresh mint leaves, if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving, so that the fruit salad is well flavored and fresh.

Serving the fruit salad in the pineapple not only makes it visually appealing, but also allows the fruits to absorb some of the exotic flavor of the pineapple, creating an even richer mix of tropical flavors.
Remember that you can vary the fruit according to the season and your personal tastes, and if you want an alcoholic touch you can add a little liqueur, such as Maraschino or rum, to further flavor the fruit salad.
