Indulgent Cocoa Cake

Ingredients

  • 200 g of 00 flour
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 100 g of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 100 g of melted butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 150 ml of milk

Optional for garnish:

  • Powdered sugar
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Fruit to taste (strawberries, raspberries, etc.)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C and butter and flour a cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, sift the flour, cocoa, and baking powder. Add a pinch of salt and mix.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until you have a light and fluffy mixture.
  4. Add the melted butter to the egg and sugar mixture and continue mixing.
  5. Incorporate the flour and cocoa mixture into the liquid mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until you obtain a smooth batter without lumps.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and level the surface with a spatula.
  7. Bake for about 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan.
  9. If desired, before serving, you can dust the cake with powdered sugar and decorate it with chocolate shavings or serve with fresh fruit.
