Oven-Baked Breaded Swordfish

Oven-baked breaded swordfish is a light and tasty dish, a valid alternative to classic pan cooking. Here is an Italian recipe to prepare oven-baked breaded swordfish.

Ingredients

  • 4 swordfish steaks (about 150 g each)
  • 100 g of breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan
  • Chopped parsley to taste
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • Grated zest of 1 untreated lemon
  • Extra virgin olive oil to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  2. In a bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the grated parmesan, parsley, minced garlic, and lemon zest. Add a pinch of salt and a grind of pepper to flavor everything.
  3. Brush the swordfish steaks with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil to help the breadcrumbs adhere better.
  4. Coat the steaks in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing with your hands to make the mixture adhere on both sides.
  5. Arrange the breaded swordfish steaks on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and add another drizzle of oil on top.
  6. Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the breading becomes golden and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Oven-baked breaded swordfish is excellent served with lemon wedges to enrich its flavor with a touch of acidity.
