Pasta with Salmon

Pasta with salmon is a creamy and tasty dish that combines the sweetness of smoked salmon with the creaminess of cream, all enriched by a touch of vodka or brandy to enhance its flavors. Here is the recipe to prepare pasta with salmon:

Ingredients

  • 320 g of pasta (usually tagliatelle or farfalle)
  • 200 g of smoked salmon
  • 200 ml of cooking cream
  • 1/2 glass of vodka or brandy (optional)
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Preparation

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil for the pasta. When the water reaches a boil, cook the pasta according to the package instructions, respecting the cooking time to keep it al dente.
  2. Meanwhile, finely slice the onion and cut the smoked salmon into strips.
  3. In a large pan, heat the extra virgin olive oil and sauté the onion until it becomes translucent.
  4. Add the smoked salmon to the pan and toss briefly.
  5. Deglaze with the vodka or brandy and let the alcohol evaporate for a minute.
  6. Pour the cream into the pan and cook over low heat for a few minutes until the cream starts to thicken slightly. Adjust with salt and pepper.
  7. Drain the pasta and transfer it to the pan with the salmon sauce, mixing well to blend the flavors.
  8. Serve hot, garnishing with chopped parsley if desired.

Fun Facts

In some variations of this recipe, peas or asparagus are added to give crunch and freshness to the dish, or fresh salmon can be used instead of smoked salmon, searing it briefly before adding the cream. The vodka or brandy are optional but help to enhance the flavor of the salmon.
