Prosciutto and Scamorza Savory Tart
17/11/2023The prosciutto and scamorza savory tart is a simple and tasty dish, perfect for a quick meal or for a buffet. Here is the recipe:
Ingredients
- 1 roll of ready-to-use puff pastry or brisée
- 150 g sliced cooked ham
- 200 g smoked scamorza
- 3 eggs
- 100 ml fresh cream (or milk, if you prefer a lighter version)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Nutmeg (optional)
- Extra virgin olive oil or butter for greasing the pan
- Breadcrumbs (if necessary, to dust the pan)
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Grease a round pan with a little oil or butter, and if you prefer, dust it with a little breadcrumbs. This will help prevent the base from sticking and add a pleasant crispiness.
- Roll out the puff pastry or brisée into the pan, pressing it well against the edges and pricking the bottom with a fork to prevent it from puffing up during baking.
- Cut the smoked scamorza into cubes and distribute the cubes over the bottom of the puff pastry.
- Add the slices of cooked ham on top of the scamorza; you can tear them or leave them whole according to your preference.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs with the cream. Season with salt, pepper, and a grating of nutmeg to taste.
- Pour the egg and cream mixture over the ham and scamorza base.
- Bake the savory tart and cook for about 30-35 minutes or until the surface is golden and the filling is well set.
- Once baked, let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
