Savory Rolls with Soft Center

Ingredients
- 1 roll of rectangular puff pastry
- 100 g of cooked ham
- 100 g of soft cheese (such as stracchino, robiola or mozzarella)
- 1 egg yolk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame or poppy seeds for decoration (optional)
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- Unroll the puff pastry and cut it into strips about 2 cm wide.
- On each strip of puff pastry, place a slice of ham and spread the soft cheese on top. Make sure to leave a free edge to seal the roll.
- At this point, roll the puff pastry onto itself starting from the side with the filling, forming small “rolls”.
- Beat the egg yolk and brush it over the rolls. This will help give a nice golden color.
- If desired, sprinkle the rolls with sesame or poppy seeds to add crunch and flavor.
- Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, making sure they are spaced apart.
- Bake and cook for about 15-20 minutes or until golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
