Simple Jam Muffins

Jam muffins are a simple and sweet delight, perfect for breakfast or a snack. Here I propose a basic recipe that you can enrich with the jam of your choice.

Ingredients

  • 250 g of 00 flour
  • 150 g of sugar
  • 100 ml of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 80 g of melted butter
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Jam to taste (about 200 g)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for decoration)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C and prepare a muffin tin by lining the individual cups with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder and a pinch of salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until you obtain a light and frothy mixture.
  4. Add the melted butter to the egg and sugar mixture and stir well.
  5. Gradually incorporate the sifted flour, alternating with the milk, continuing to mix to avoid lumps.
  6. Fill the liners 2/3 full with the batter.
  7. Add a teaspoon of jam to the center of each muffin, without pressing too hard. The jam will sink slightly during baking, creating a surprise center.
  8. Bake the muffins for about 20 minutes or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
  10. If desired, before serving, you can dust your muffins with powdered sugar.
