Tuna and Potato Flan

The tuna and potato flan is a simple and tasty dish, perfect for a light lunch or dinner. Here is the recipe for you:

Ingredients

  • 600 g potatoes
  • 160 g drained tuna in oil
  • 100 g grated cheese (parmesan or pecorino)
  • 2 eggs
  • Chopped parsley to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Butter and breadcrumbs for greasing and coating the mold
  • (Optional) a pinch of nutmeg

Preparation

  1. To start, peel the potatoes and boil them in salted water until tender. Drain and mash them while still hot using a potato ricer.

  2. In a large bowl, mix the mashed potatoes with the drained and flaked tuna, grated cheese, eggs, a sprinkle of chopped parsley, salt and pepper to taste. If you like, you can also add a pinch of nutmeg.

  3. Take a mold (it can be a loaf pan, a round one, or individual portions) and grease it with a little butter. Then sprinkle the inside of the mold with breadcrumbs.

  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared mold and level the surface with the back of a spoon.

  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 30-40 minutes, or until the flan is golden and firm.

  6. Once cooked, remove the tuna and potato flan from the oven and let it cool slightly before turning it out onto a serving plate.
