Turkey Burgers
17/11/2023Turkey burgers are an excellent variation on classic beef burgers and can be lighter and healthier. Here’s how to prepare them Italian-style:
Ingredients
- 500 g ground turkey
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
- 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
- Chopped parsley to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Breadcrumbs (if needed, to bind the mixture)
- Extra-virgin olive oil for greasing the pan
Preparation
- In a large bowl, place the ground turkey.
- Add the egg, grated Parmesan, minced garlic (if desired), parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Mix well with your hands to combine all the ingredients. If the mixture is too wet, add a little breadcrumbs until you reach a consistency that allows you to form the burgers.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into burgers.
- In a non-stick pan lightly greased with olive oil, cook the burgers over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve hot with your preferred sides: grilled vegetables, a fresh salad, or hamburger buns if you want a classic sandwich.
Trivia
Turkey burgers are a leaner alternative to beef burgers and are especially appreciated by those following low-calorie diets or looking to reduce red meat consumption. In Italy, it is common to enrich the mixture with aromatic herbs and typical cheeses to add extra flavor.
