Baked Tortiglioni
17/11/2023Baked tortiglioni are a hearty and flavorful dish, a type of baked pasta with various ingredients that make it particularly juicy and satisfying. Here’s how you can prepare it with an Italian touch.
Ingredients
- 400 g tortiglioni
- 300 g tomato sauce
- 200 g ground meat
- 100 g mozzarella
- 50 g grated parmesan
- 1 medium onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- Fresh basil to taste
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- Place a pot with plenty of salted water on the heat and bring to a boil to cook the tortiglioni until al dente.
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet, sauté the finely chopped onion and garlic in a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
- Add the ground meat and brown over high heat until well colored. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour the tomato sauce into the skillet with the meat and let it cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes, until slightly thickened. Add the chopped basil in the last minutes of cooking.
- Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the skillet with the meat sauce, mixing well so the sauce coats evenly.
- Take a baking dish, grease the bottom with a little oil and arrange a first layer of pasta. Add pieces of mozzarella and sprinkle with a little grated parmesan.
- Create additional layers alternating pasta, mozzarella and parmesan until all ingredients are used.
- Bake the tortiglioni pasticciati and cook for about 20 minutes, or until the surface is golden and crispy.
- Let rest a few minutes before serving.
