Savory Tartlets with Robiola
17/11/2023Here’s how to prepare delicious savory tartlets with robiola. They are small and tasty appetizers that can be served during an aperitif or as an entrée for a dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 roll of puff pastry
- 250 g robiola (or another soft cheese of your choice)
- 2 eggs
- 100 ml cooking cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped chives (optional)
- Poppy or sesame seeds (optional)
- Butter for greasing the molds
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- Take the puff pastry and, using a cookie cutter or a glass, cut out discs that fit the size of the molds you will use.
- Grease the molds with butter and place a disc of puff pastry in each one. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent it from puffing up during baking.
- In a bowl, mix the robiola with the eggs, cream, a pinch of salt, and pepper to taste until you obtain a smooth mixture. If desired, you can add chopped chives for extra flavor.
- Pour the robiola mixture into the puff pastry shells prepared in the molds.
- Sprinkle the surface of the tartlets with poppy or sesame seeds to add crunch and decoration.
- Bake the tartlets for about 20-25 minutes or until the surface is golden and the filling is fully cooked.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before unmolding.
Trivia
Robiola is a fresh cheese of Italian origin, typical of the Piedmont and Lombardy regions. It is appreciated for its creaminess and lends itself wonderfully to use in cooking, both in cold and hot dishes. In this recipe, it pairs perfectly with the buttery flavor of puff pastry, making the tartlets extremely delicious.
Enjoy your meal and get creative with pairings: robiola can be replaced with other creamy cheeses of your choice, such as goat cheese or ricotta for different variations of the dish.
